The caller whispers, “I know what you did,” but what did Carter McCoy do? Someone has been watching, waiting, and he won’t stop tormenting the college professor until his revenge is complete and Carter’s life is destroyed. The mystery begins when Carter sleeps with Leslie Steel. After Leslie disappears later that night and is presumed dead by the authorities, Carter’s carefully constructed facade begins to crumble. Anonymous phone calls, cryptic letters, haunting song lyrics, a bloody murder weapon—someone is trying to implicate Carter in Leslie’s death. But who? With his life falling apart, Carter attempts to cover up a murder he doesn’t remember committing. Unfortunately, Detective Bruce Kraft is always one step ahead. Handsome, rugged, and confident, Kraft is everything Carter McCoy is not—namely, a good guy trapped in a crummy world. In Carter’s cluttered mind, everyone is a suspect, but who killed Leslie Steel? Who is attacking his friends? Who kidnapped his girlfriend? Who is the mystery person known as Vengeance? With time running out, Carter is given one last chance to uncover the truth, leading to a roller coaster conclusion full of shocking twists. Nothing is what it seems in Fuller’s debut suspense novel.

I laughed, I didn't cry (but that's more about me and my issues) I enjoyed this book. I rank books based on my inability to drive without pulling them out and sneaking a peak while on the road. This book nearly caused three accidents. I'm just saying that I was annoyed that I had to drive somewhere when I would rather kick back and keep reading. It's the kind of book that midway in makes you want to sneak a peak at the end...but you'd rather keep reading.
Great characters - great story - great book.
Can't wait for the next one.

The Sickness Bruce Kraft Trilogy Book 1 eBook Steve Fuller Reviews

What can I say but congratulations, Steve. I read this book in less than two days, and I'm still going back and replaying parts of it in my mind and thinking "How can that be?" I have never read such a tense, mystery thriller in my life, and believe me, I am a pro when it comes to reading. Good luck with the next book. It is anxiously awaited.
The Sickness is a book I could not stop reading. It was a page turner from the cover. Steve knows how to draw in the reader and makes them keep on wanting more. The Sickness did not disappoint.
This book was hard to put down; I read it completely in 3 days. Very well written and full of details that made me feel like I could actually see the characters. I look forward to more stories from this author!
Fuller's debut book was a real thrill ride. Living in the Cincinnati, it was fun to see the references to familiar landmarks and locations around town. The narrative was compelling and rich with details. I look forward to his next contribution!
After reading the 3 chapter teaser I was hooked, hours later after work I ordered the full book on my Iphone app and once I started reading it was hard to put down. Definitely a book I would recommend and I look forward to Mr. Fuller's next installment.
The Sickness was an excellent read. The writer really went into depth of an addicts mind and thinking. It helped you see into the mind of how an addiction can control your life, and how anybody can suffer from addiction. The book kept me on my feet. When I predicted it ending one way the story then would totally surprise me.
It was also nice being from the city where the story took place. I could place myself into the story setting better. I highley recomend reading The Sickness. I have loaned my book to a few people, and am anticipating reading the next book in the series.
Steve Fuller apparently wanted to keep me on the edge of my seat. He also apparently wanted me to finish each chapter and say, "Did I just read what I think I just read??" Because he did both. The Sickness reaches in and touches all those primal thoughts and desires that hound us. Just when I didn't want to like Carter McCoy, I found myself rooting for him. And don't even get me started on the ending. REALLY?? Like the other readers, I had to stick with this thing until the end. It was an easy, addicting read yet filled with character complexities. Well done, Steve Fuller, well done. I'll be looking forward to your next project.
